Latvia Residence Permit Medical Check: What to Expect
The Latvian residence permit medical examination is far smaller than the phrase suggests: one chest X-ray per family member and a certificate confirming the absence of tuberculosis, issued within one or two business days — done in Latvia, during the final trip, before your OCMA appointment. No general health screening, no medical history review, no examinations abroad: one image, one certificate, one requirement.

What, Who, When
What: a chest X-ray and the resulting certificate on the absence of tuberculosis — the entire medical content of the requirement.
Who: every family member receiving a card — the investor, the spouse, the children. Like biometrics, this is personal and per-person, which is one more reason the final trip works best with everyone travelling together rather than in instalments.
When: after arrival in Latvia on the D visa, in the window before the OCMA appointment — alongside the other pre-appointment errands (insurance policies, the state-fee payment).
